Can anyone tell me how to remove the background (shadow) from the text under my desktop icons? I have tried through start/systems/control panel/advanced/performance/shadow icons etc
Anyone an idea how I might just be able to get text only under the icons without the annoying box covering the text. All I want is white text!!! GRRRRRR
Thanks

I use this free program - it's only a small thing to have running. It does what you want with the shadows. http://www.sillysot.com/
I like it cause you can get all the icons to disappear on the desktop after a period of time.
Hope you enjoy it. :D
