How do i make my torch brighter?

My mag lite isn't as bright as it used to be. Doesn't put a beam as far as it used to on trees etc.

Should I just change the bulb?

Don't you have to focus the beam on those torches to use as a spotlight.

What's it like if you put new batteries in?

If no better, have you tried replacing the bulb?

if you have gone to rechargeable batteries the nominal voltage is 1.2v per cell compared to 1.5v so try with normal batteries again ??

You can swap old bulb for led. Stays same brightness even though batteries fade off.
