I need to take up floorboards to check location of pipes before resecuring to stop horrendous creecking before our new carpet is laid next week! I need to know how to get the floorboards up without cutting them as the nails are flush! Any tips???

was the central heating installed with the house!!!!!

if a newer addition the relivent boards are likly to just unscrew/lever up

you want to give the pipes free movment not restrict them!!!

if you have enough room wrap the pipes in felt/packing tape electrical tape anywhere the pipes rub
you could even try vaseline or talk anywhere the pipes rub and this can include the floor boards on top

the noise is caused by the pipes jumping as they expand
