How do you tighten this type of toilet see - no buttons, no access under toilet?

Maybe the Chrome covers slide out . If not it's a pan removal to tighten from below.

I was hoping not to have to remove the toilet - is there anything else I’ve missed before I contemplate Taking the toilet out just to tighten the seat ?

Not unless you want to go down the route of scrapping your seat , and fitting a new seat with top mounted fittings.
