how do you uninstall a gas cooker

Is it a free standing cooker? In which case it should be on a flexible bayonet fitting.
 
If it is a flexi bayonet fitting, you need to push the flexi pipe into the fixed pipe & at the same time half a turn anti clockwise on the brass disc then pull out. They are self sealing.
