How Hot Should My Propane Torch Be?

Hot enough to melt the solder. If you are referring to domestic copper installation.
 
Always been taught to have it on pretty low, no need to put it on full blast. I use MAPP and the lowest gas flow is more than enough for 15mm pipe, I turn it up a tad for 22mm though...
