How important is radiator location in a room?

Here in the province.
An argon filled low E triple glazed window has a lower U value than many cavities.

So you'd go to all the expense of fitting your super windows and not upgrade the insulation of the cavity wall? That's madness.... ayone with half a brain would upgrade the insulation of their walls as a priority and by that time (Assuming your windows exist) the walls wold have higer insulative qualities than the windows that you hae just fitted... And the windows would then provide you with a cold front yet again...

Any cold front from a modern glazed unit will quickly be diminished when the heating begins.
Even when the rad is placed on adjacent walls!
There's no evidence to suggest otherwise. And no evidence to suggest cold draughts are a problem where modern glazing is fitted when rads are on adjacent walls.
Its just your opinion at the end of the day because you stick with "convention" from the ole days.

Incidentally CIBSE don't recommend fitting radiators under windows where modern glazing is concerned.
They only say it "might" be beneficial to do so.
