i have just put 150mm of MOT down for my new solid floor it feels realy soilid is it important to wack it as im concerned of any old drain which lay below is wacking that important

It depends if you want the floor to sink or not.

Should you have encased that drain in concrete?

thanks woody the reason i ask is that if you do somthing on a regular basis you dont always have to follow the rules there are things you can get away with ,, and others you can not,, the MOT is outside uncovered on the floor and seems soilid,,,

The chipped stone moves over time and then settles into a hard firm state. So when you whack it, it compacts there and then and does not move again .... unless the ground below does.

So yes, always whack it.
