How long to leave foundations before first course?

Hi

well today I finally laid the foundation for my front garden wall

it wasn’t as bad as I expected but due to health issues after leaving the forces it took three hours which I’m happy with as I didn’t kill
Myself doing it!

I just wondered if anyone could advise how long I should leave the footings before my first course of bricks?
