Hello ,

New to the Forum and i have a couple of questions RE: Radiators .

With regards to installation , is there a Maximum with regards to the number of radiators i can have installed in my property? Or if i replace standard white Panel Rads with large fancy Multi barred radiators (which i believe hold much more water) will there be any limitations to what i can fit ?

Depends on the type of system and boiler.
If you are going to change to the fancy rads you need to make sure it has sufficient heat output for the room that its in.
You will need to choose your rads and add up the total combined heat output for all the rads and allow 2KW for your hot water if your on an open vented system.

Most say 4kW unless its an unvented in which case anything you can throw at it within reason ;).

Was looking at one the other day that can take 80kW input. Fitting one in a couple of weeks that is taking 74  8)

Reading the question, it would seem that the house already has radiators and the OP is wondering what changes might be needed if these were changed to the tubular mock iron types, or perhaps (I'm guessing) refurbished iron school rads.

The answer is nothing to do with whether the boiler is big enough, because it is assumed it heats the house already.

The new radiators differ from the old ones in terms of water content; if you have a sealed system with an expansion vessel, you will almost certainly need an additional or larger expansion vessel.

If it is an open vented system, then it is possible the expansion tank might need upsizing - but it will probably be OK.

To go any further you'd need to know the water capacity of what you have now and what you plan to fit.
