I’m laying my patio on mortar bed: 4 buckets sharp sand to 1 bucket cement

1. How much water should I add to this mix? (As a rough guide)

2. How much plasticiser should I add to the above water?

Probably work better with sharp sand, yes. Best not to have it too fluffy.

Reminds me off the time one of the lads asked the site manager for "a bucket of sand". The manager said yes, no problem, but didn't realise the bucket was on the end of a Hymac.
