Hi all. Yes i know you cant ask people to do jobs or expect people to give an exact price without seeing the job but here goes anyway.
I usualy only get involved with fitting kitchens, bathrooms and fitted wardrobes, however i have recently been doing up a 200 year old cottage for a guy who asked if i would decorate his bed room once i hade finished the wardrobes.
Now i can price kitchens, bathrooms and so on all day long but i am stumped at what to charge for decorating?
The room was already stripped so all i did was paper the ceiling, and all the walls with blown vynyl. The guy then wanted them painting . I also painted the skirtings and door architraves. Never painted door because i will be hanging new ones this week. The room is 16 feet by 14 and 8 foot high ceilings.
i know some of you will say charge as much as you can get but im not like that. i was thinking of charging around 25% less than a pro decorator. Dont get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with the result just that its not my trade. Dont worry guys, i wont be doing it again. I hate decorating. Give me a hammer and a drill anyday.
Cheers.
