I have discovered that rats and mice are getting into the fabric of the house through a gap next to the toilet so pipe outlet the brick was never finished. See photo. What is the best way of blocking this gap all the way around the pipe to stop the rats and mice?
As above, but also make sure you bleach and disinfect around the area as much as possible to try and get rid of the scent trail, they rely on this and if it's there they will try and chew through what's in the path
