Hi folks.

Hopefully someone can help guide us how to replace the euro lock on this french door. It is different to mine as there are no obvious ways to take the mullion off (no large screws). Is this a glass out job?

Many thanks Andrew

The bottom screw in the first picture seems to be in line with the lock. Have you tried removing that?

They seem to be a road to nowhere to be honest. It might be the pic but it's not inline with it

Isn't that the slave door, when I did mine I had to remove the mullion it was lots of screws all down it and some at the top too then quite a bit of levering to get access to the fixing screw for the lock! A right pig of a job!
Mark the striker plate position with pencil to get it back right(y)

PS I have read that if you measure carefully you can drill an access hole through the mullion to gain access to the lock retaining screw but I was a bit too chicken to try it!

@Liverpool-Lad

doesn't look right to me. can you open the door with the lock in it, and show the door edge and the side of the lock cylinder.

hold the camera horizontal, level with the lock

Yes, that is the slave/secondary door I guess you call it, which the other latches into. I'll try and get another picture but only those latches are on offer. I can't see another way to easily remove it compared to mine which have 4 big screw heads to remove along the length of it. Thanks for the replies so far guys.

It should have about 5 screws along the full length probably under screw caps, need to unscrew and remove the mullion and it'll expose the locking mechanism just like on the master door

Nothing along the line. Only what's on the pictures. I know the ones you mean as I've replaced mine in the past. This is a different beast

Well then it must be screwed through from the glass side and will need deglazing to access the screws, it won't be just hovering there it has to be screwed on somehow, the only other way is draw a line level from the bottom of the barrel onto the mullion and drill a hole through the mullion to expose the screw and poke a screwdriver through and undo it
