Hi guys I am a non practicing electrician by trade and grew up in a building background. However I have taken on a large project and plan to rent until complete. (6 Months I hope)

List of works:
New heating system
new windows
2 new doors
rewire including cat6 (I will do most of this)
new bathroom
strip and re-render (lime)
roof repairs
new kitchen

Major refurbish using period materials (LIME RENDER) (except windows) Basically.

Should I sub it out or use one main contractor? I will be buying most materials myself to get best prices.

How do I get a good builder? I am moving 200 miles away so can't get recommendations from friends.

Thanks

You can have a look around where you are going & see if there is any work on going or recently completed.
I went to the local pub, start chatting, you soon find someone who does or has had work done.
We found a carpenter, then a builder was recommended, the builder new a sparky & so it goes on.
If you are going to a rural area everyone knows everyone.
