I have also posted in the garden section but was advised to also post here

I am fitting a patio cover to a patio and the cover has 2 legs with 4 holes for fixing to the slabs

here is the instructions - it comes with screws and plugs and suggests a 10mm drill bit

i also enclose a copy photo of my slabs

should i simply use the screws that come with the patio and follow the guidance ie 10mm holes or is there a better option out there to use so i dont damage the slabs

thinking of starting with a smaller size bit and working my way up to the required size

are 10mm bolts too large - i assume the larger the hole the more risk of damaging the slabs.

are there any smaller strong fixings that are recommended.

Just use the fixings supplied. If you drill carefully working your way up you’ll be fine
