how to fill in in holes in floorboard?

hi all i have about 4 x 15mm (they were old copper pipe locations) holes in my floorboards i need to fill in with wood.
whats the best way to fill these in?
something with a slight tapered wood i guess?

your thoughts please

tapered dowels glued in, then cut off as close as possible to the surface, then either plane or sand flush.

Yes they would suit the purpose, 18mm ones you may have to sand / whittle, the taper on yourself, just glue them in using PVA wood glue, when glue dries, cut off excess and sand / plane level with surface.

In the past I've used tapered sections sawn from the handles of old wooden tools. Select fractionally oversize, apply PVA and hammer into the hole.
