Hello everyone

Something I never thought I would get involved in is the detail of firestopping. Am fitting a new roof myself as a competent tradesperson. Originally was connected to the neighbours house on one side as one single roof. The other neighbour has a seperate roof anyway, but either way there will be a dry bonding gutter on each party wall.

Is this my responsibility, and where specifically can I find regulations on this?

Secondly, what is the most practical detail here? I have read you stuff mineral wool in any gaps, or create a 75mm channel inbetween the two battens of mortar, and sit the dry bonding gutter on top. In some ways the latter would be easier, but tricky to apply in the siuation of my two walls which are crumbling away, and with decidely dodgy roofs either side. On the concrete tile side, the battens don't reach the wall and on the slate roof side, there is no membrane at all.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks. Can't seem to download that file. Keep saying it's not safe. Is it an image?
