Hello all, i'm new here and was hoping i could get a bit of help.
Last year my elderly parents had a valiant eco tech plus boiler installed, and the engineers installed a wireless programmable thermostate, which for my elderly parents was very confusing and difficult to use. So they pulled out the batteries to keep the heating on.
Now i want to connect a standard room thermostat, the one with a dial. I can do basic electrics and plumbing work, like re-wire sockets, install lighting and change taps etc so i want to try and change/add the thermostate for them myself. I got a couple of quotes and they were in the region of £150-200 so would rather do it myself.
There valiant wireless box is still connectred to the boiler, but as i've never fit anything like this, could someone please advise on how to do this?
what wouyld be the best type of thermnostat to buy, a 2 wire or 3 wire?
thank you in advance
Phil
