How to fit two pvc pipes together in small space

Help and advice needed. I've had a leak for over a month dripping into living room. After 3 different plumbers coming out and not finding the leak but charging me I decided I needed to rip the floorboards up at 2am.
The leak was coming from a pvc pipe which has clearly been patched up by the previous owners. I replaced the elbow bend with a push fit device and removed the connector which was leaking which was inplace at the middle section but as you can see a push connector is no good as is too bulky and I cant put the floorboards back..I bought a straight connector but it is 21.5mm and the pipe is 22mm. I cant seem to find anything to connect two 22mm pvc pipes in a small space. Any advice much appreciated.

Cut It if back to the next joist gap,this will let the pipe flex ,looks like 22 mm speed fit pipe.unless it’s 21mm overflow pipe .then solvent weld joint will fix it.

What does this pipe supply, do you know? Is it water or is it coming from the toilet overflow as suggested?

If its just the wc overflow fit a suitable syphon/flush valve in wc that allows overflow into pan blank of overflow hole in cistern.
Job done no overflow pipe required.

Ah thank you. I think the pieces of the jigsaw are finally coming together. I am pretty certain it must be the overflow pipe from the toilet. It makes sense as a Plumber came to replace the valve in the cistern as it was spurting and flooding onto my bathroom floor. I thought that couldn't have just been a co-incidence that the leak into my living room started a day after and its only just been since tearing up my flooring I could tell where exactly it was coming from. Getting something that allows to overflow to drain into the pan would be ideal.
