How to get drop down curb

Me and my neighbore have shared parking. There is enough room for 4 cars but as the drop down curb only comes as far as 2 car width, it is a pain to go on and off for 2 cars. What must I do to get a drop down curb. Does the council do this on request, how much would it cost, or can I just grind the current curb

Grind the kerb up, as you put at your own peril...........

You will need to get highways approval as well as planning permission.

The work should be undertaken by an approved (one with the right insurance etc) contractor.

Don't bother messing with it yourself as the liability risk ain't worth it.
