Hi,

I would like to request my council (Leicester) approval for me to slightly extend the dropped kerb, so that I can park 2 cars side-by-side. However, I live in front of a junction, and Leicester's FAQ says it can be rejected because of this.
See images below, I will knock down the front wall (red) and I think only 1 extra dropped kerb block would be sufficient (yellow)

Which options do I have, please?
  1. Not extending the dropped kerb and just deviating the car through the current kerb when crossing?
Is this lawful to do, or can I get fined (or something else) because of that?
There are some service boxes on the footway. Hopefully, they won't break.
  2. Submitting the request, which costs £50 initially, with a high risk of rejection?
Could I then still try option 1?
  3. Drop the 1 additional kerb block without any notice and ask apologies if the council comes?
There are some service boxes on the footway. Hope they won't break.
Seems like a bad option. But I am so dissatisfied with the other ones :(
  4. Any other idea?

Personally for the cost of it all I just wouldn't bother.
Just use the existing dropped kerb and come in at a slight angle.

Do the neighbours park on the shingle next door, if so then they are driving on at an angle. ;)
