Need to fit two new cartridges but cant get the taps off. I took out the screw at the side of each tap lever (hidden under the H and C labels) but they still won't come off. There's limescale as you can see - could it be they are scaled up?
How to get these taps off?

Scaled up or just stiff they just push on to a spline on the cartridge.
yes, scale is not helping. keep trying to wriggle them off, youll obviously know that technical plumbing term, wriggle.
keep at it but if you get to the end of your tether suggest a new tap.
to encourage you i should say that the hard bit is yet to come, sometimes the cartridges unscrew easily and sometimes you wish you had said new tap. take it or leave it
