Having remodelled my kitchen I have quite a bit of black high gloss flatpack kitchen panels left (basically chipboard). I would like to make a couple of shelves similar to the pic below.

The shelf would be approx 7 inches deep and maybe 2 feet wide

How would I join the `panels` together, one of the shelves would have cookery books so a few kilo in weight. I quite like the cam screw things as used in the kitchen units but not sure of my accuracy for that.

Also how best to fit to wall as I dont want brackets showing if possible.

You can use a piece to make a solid rear panel, fix thru from rear [screw] to other panels to form unit, screw thru top and bottom to secure verticals then add a second panel top and bottom glued on to hide all fixings, you can then screw thru back to mount on wall.
I would make top and bottom panels about 10mm larger than shelf to improve appearance.
