How to kill this?

It just looks like a loop going from the TRV, round the wall, then back to the lockshield, maybe for airing purposes. You could turn the valves off, remove the pipe and cap the outlets of the valves. The pipes would still be coming up from the floor with the valves on, to remove them you would have to drain the system.

That was exactly the purpose. The designer person we had was mad for this but we knew it wouldn’t be used for that. Not least as there’s no ventilation and it would be a source of mould.

thanks for that advice. Is there a particular product that caps them?

No, one or the other but you'll need an additional nut for the flomasta compression ones (if you can't reuse the old one attached to the pipework).

Looks like a bleed valve for removing air.
