Hi All.

I want to create a rounded edge along the length of a piece of wood. Am I right in assuming that it is a router that I need? The effect I'm looking for is like that of the edge of a standard window sill, which is usually rounded.

If so, how do I ensure it doesn't look like a home-made job?

Thanks.

Router with bearing guided roundover bit will do the job. don't let the router wobble otherwise you will get that DIY look

Thanks JasonB.

Is it a case of buying a good router, or will any old router do the job? Any suggestions on a good one?

Thanks.

If it is just a single job that you need to do then it may be worth hiring a router instead of shelling out your hard earned cash on one. Just an idea. If its a case of you are going to use it quite a bit then the small dewalt router is a great tool but not the cheapest. If you want one to do small jobs then any of the entry level ones will do the job really.
