I am undertaking a loft conversion and will be doing the tiling myself. I have a query on how best to make watertight the junction of the pitched roof with the chimney stack. It obviously requires some form of flashing which I think would be straightforward were it not for the new party wall. I guess my question really is whether I need someone to create the flashing for me (i.e. solder some type of channel) or is there a way that I can make this watertight myself without the need to solder (I have fitted soakers and step flashing so am familiar with that concept but realise that this is not the solution here). Once the roof clears the chimney then I would install gutter in the normal way. I have attached a photo from a neighbours house which is almost identical to what I want to achieve but they set the dormer back from the chimney (no issues with flashing) whereas mine will abut it directly (hope that makes sense).
