hi there,
I've recently installed a new fireplace and had to lay some additional wood blocks (which were taken from under the stairs). I had to sand them down as they were in bad condition and was wondering how best to treat them to get them to be as close a match as possible to the rest of the floor?
I assume some sort of varnish is needed but I can't see what would provide the slight red tint the existing blocks seem to have. See pics - note the sanded blocks are on the left
Be very grateful for any advice.
Cheers,
Huw
