Hi all,

Hoping you can help. I have plastered a room before but I put plasterboard up so was fairly easy.
We've been quoted £2000 for our bedroom and I just can't part with the cash when I know I can at least have a go myself!

But I'm unsure how to prep the walls read for a skim. I'll attach some photos. My main concern is the areas around the windows where it's previously been plastered and some has come off while removing wallpaper leaving a ridge. What do I use to fill/level this out before the skim coat?
And what do I use to fill these edges around the alcove?
And do I need to put anything on the rest of the walls as a primer before skimming?
