Hi,

So this is the outlet hose that takes the dirty water from our dishwasher to the drainage under our sink. The grey pipe used to just sit in the white tube. About 4 months ago when there was a smell under our sink, we called plumber out and he found a blockage at the end of the grey pipe and cleared it. Unfortunately, he's also added that black sleeve and the 2 metal clasps. The smell has reappeared but we don't know how to remove the clasps to check the grey tube. It doesn't seem that the clasps can easily be removed by hand. Would he have used some sort of tool and how to undo it?

Need some advise on how to take this off please Is it just a case of using pliers or something more? Is there a name for the clasps or the tool used should we want to reapply it?

Thanks

Just loosen the white plastic nut instead. Also put dishwasher on intensive wash with no rinse aid or tablet

Couldn't see the wood for the trees. Sorry about that.

Ideally you want to replace that with a proper waste pipe.

Motorbiking, that’s how it should be. Dishwasher outlet into a WM11 trap. The hose should be higher though to prevent backflow into the machine ....... causing smells......

Sorry I couldn’t get the perspective of the pipe diameter. Thought it was some kind of flexible waste pipe bodge
