Hey all.

Looking to replace this panel with a blank panel for a cat flap, done this before on newer doors but the beading on this one is new to me, any advice on how to remove would be great

Thin bladed implement, such as wallpaper scraper and hammer.

Usually, beading is installed bottom, each side, top last so removal should be the opposite.

Not quite correct, theres a few variables that can determine which bead you start with, in the OP's pictures it shows that the corners are mitred, that means you need to start prying in the middle of the bead to release the mitre, once you have one bead out then by all means you can start at the ends for the other three.

It doesn't really matter in this case as all four beads are roughly the same length but if you have say a top opener thats long but narrow you need to start with the longer lengths(top or bottom) assuming the corners are mitred, IF the corners are scribed and the two shorter beads(left and right) overlap the top and bottom bead in the corner then you remove those first then longer beads last.

Back to the OP, your going to need a stiff scraper around 2" wide, a flexible filling knife won't work, sharpen the edge so that it can be knocked into the joint, start on the top bead in the centre and knock the scraper in at 90 degrees to the pvc, once in and a gap has apeared lever the scraper up but still keeping inward pressure, from there work sideways to both ends as much as possible, the further you go the bigger the gap gets in the centre then put your scraper right in the gap and knock the bead down to release the ends from the mitres
