We're getting a damp patch on our basement ceiling due to water seeping through from the path above. i'd rather not rip up the path - I'm told we could seal the path with a silicone of some sort and maybe add some type of flashing around the edge. The path itself is made up of quarry tiles and a concrete step.

Does anyone have an experience of sealing such an area? Any particular product advice? cheers. [/img]

I am afraid you are going to have to dig up the path, lay a membrane cover in oversite then re lay the path to seal for good.

Patch repair will not last on a path if you have pedestrian traffic and the water will always find another root.
