How to Seal Chrome Waste into Belfast Sink?

The subject says it all really... I couldn't find anything similar in the Seach.

How should I - and what should I use - to seal a chrome waste into a belfast sink?

Do you mean a seal between the underside of the waste flange and the top of the ceramic.

If so then if its bone dry then sanitary silicone would be good but you must ensure its not going to move after it sets.

Alternatively some people use Plumber's Mait.

Yes, thats what I mean. The sink & waste are both new and having test-assembled them together I can see that water is just going to drain under the waste flange and out the sink hole onto the floor!!

I assumed it would be some variety of silicon product but was unsure.
