How to stop taps turning

Do any of you have any tips to stop taps turning on baths and basins?

I always tighten the big nut with a basin spanner as hard as I dare, but invariably, the tap gets knocked, straightened and then becomes loose.

It drives me mad it does!

dump them plastic nuts and use brass.

And replace any flexi. hoses with copper pipe.
