How to terminate wire for LED light

I've pulled some cables from a light switch to some alcoves. The idea is to have LEDs on the shelves in the alcoves. At the moment the cables are just poking out of the wall. I could connect them straight to a driver but it feels a bit unfinished. I think a socket or something would look better. What's a good way to terminate these wires?

Years ago I would have used one of these

but they have become so expensive.

5 amp socket seems a better price, but it depends on the transformer/driver for the lights, mine came with a 13 amp plug so no real alternative but use a 13 amp socket.

It all depends on what will be the neatest solution.

2a socket? If the driver has just a cable connection would an architrave box sunk in the wall covered with a blank plate to conceal the connections work? File a small slot in the edge of the plate to allow the driver cable exit.

Trim both L and N conductors shorter than each other so no copper is left exposed. Leave earth as is and sleeve and tape. All three conductors are now different lengths. Then tape the whole thing. That should be safe until you find time to do the job. A reminder that it is there waiting to be done is more important than appearance

At the moment, I don't know what type of driver I'll get. A small flex outlet or architrave seem like the best options. I don't want to make a feature of it.
However the cable runs vertical, the backboxes I've seen have a hole at the rear so the bottom fixing be very close to cable. Can I offset it 15mm?
