How to test an alarm bell box before putting it up

I bought an alarm off eBay and I have an adt sounder with connections labelled (tamper out +-, box tamper +-, anti drill in out, P | D +-, bell +- "one connector block", hold off +-, speakers in out.

How can I link a 12 v power supply to test alarm works and makes a sound before fully wiring up and putting it up?

I've never worked for ADT but, I expect, you put the 12V on the Holdoff terminals and connect Bell- to the 0V (negative) to make it sound. A photo might help...
