Hi,

We have just bought a house and in the corner of the bedroom, between external wall (on left of photos) and internal wall to bathroom where the shower is on the other side, there has previously been a leak. Previous owners said it happened some years ago.

My question is what is the best way to treat the moldy floorboard please?

Thanks
Craig

First thing is to be certain that the leak issue has been resolved: its stopped.
What was the cause, did the previous owners say?
Next thing is to make sure that no suspicious rotting is taking place in the wall or under the floor - use a mirror and a torch.
A couple of things would indicate that the original job was a DIY effort.
You could cut back and chisel away all signs of rot and treat with an anti-fungal chemical from a Builders Suppliers.
Nothing is going to collapse, the wall plate for instance is supported on a number of joists.
Can you investigate in the shower/bathroom? Can you look under the bath or shower tray?
