I'm interested in buying this Multifunction tester- HT Instruments Combitest2019UK Part P Tester . It's shown on this web page (can't get the link to work!) http://www.isswww.co.uk/productdetail.aspx?id=2162

Has anyone used this instrument before? What is the reputation of the company??
Any help greatly appreciated
Cheers SB

Thanks Brian - a very helpful link. I'm really only going to be doing domestic stuff, so the more basic tester would suit me fine.

I took a look at the software website mentioned in the link, but it's not clear of the reports you can generate via the PC are in line with eg NIC reports for PIR or new installations - do you know if these can be generated from the data?

Hi guys i bought the macro 5035 tester from that company very good service but the tester tripped rcds , which it stated it didnt in the details, the company did exchange it for a megger for me with no problems at all.
The only comment i would make about it is that it has a lot on information on the screen that you do not require and could cause confusion to a newbie where as the meggers are very simple to operate and understand

hope this helps

The 15mA loop test should not trip 30mA and above RCD`s
However the resolution on this range is 1 Ohm so you could get an approx GO/NO GO reading on sockets but if you need a decent ELFI you need to remove RCD for tests. A bit inconvenient!

To be fair though I have tried others that have a closer resolution BUT I have tried testing several of them on non RCD sockets comparing ELFI tests to "non trip" tests and the results are never the same.

Anyone else observed this?
