I was just about to change my old cylinder stat for a Honeywell L641 until I took the old stat apart. :x

Tthe conection on the honeywell are C, 1 , 2 and unfortunatly there is nothing to cross ref this on the old stat.

The wire colours are Red, Yellow & Black.

Which one goes where?

Please help

There is no definate convention on how these are wired.

Its a single pole changeover switch. The wire which goes to the common will normally be live when HW is selected. If you were competent you could measure this. The other two can be connected either way and then reversed if they give incorrect operation.

Like many things in life this is not a simple DIY project where you follow simple instructions, some diagnostic skills and test equipment are required.

Hi Thanks for that!

I have just spotted on the front case of the old stat

Red = Common
Blk = N C
Yellow = N O

What is the N C and N O, "No Connection"?

Thanks

He was being thick if he did not spot that!!!

"NO" actually stands for "Normally Open".

Isn't that surprising!
