Lifting the floor above, and seeing if the wall is supporting the floor. If it is, forget it.
If it's not, have the wall demolished, and ground to the angle of the stairs. Then get a good chippy in to fit the replacement.

Its not a full wall just goesto slightly higher than waist height upstIairs
