I was looking for the textbook method for connecting 2 lumis to be operated by the same switch.
Can't find it in the "for ref" section.

I know my method is OK, but was interested to know the best method.
can someone point me please?

this method is considered the normal one nowadays though other layouts are quite common

note that there is no standard color code for the wiring between the switches and thier are at least two arrangements on common use.

I'm ok on one lumi controlled by 2 switches independently, thanks Plugwash!

I was after a diagram for connecting 2 lights so that they are operated by a single gang switch.

There is a diagram that purports to show this in the for-ref, but there is no switch in this diag.

all depends on the situation

if installing from scratch or adding a fitting to an existing light the most normal way would be to simply take a switched spur from one light fitting to the other or looping in a junction box and then running cables from there to all the fittings or from one fitting to the next

if two lights used to be on seperate switches in the same box (mostly seen when replacing switches with dimmers as you can't get 3 gang dimmers in 1 gang platesize) then the normal way would just be to connect both switch cables together in the switch terminals (ie both perm lives to one both switched lives to the other)

finally if you have two lights each on a seperate switch and you want both switches to control both lights you can do the following.
