I should have known better

Just taking a lamp out of an uplighter in my lounge tonight (two gone, couldn,t remember what they were), didn't check the dimmer was turned off, unscrewed the lamp - could have sworn they were ES - BANG.
MCB operated and I now have one half of a two gang dimmer U/S.

Be warned folks when you're in a rush and complacent.........
