usualy you have to reffer to the main catalouge for full desciption but the 18 17 must have been in a previous cataloug eg not the spring summer 2005 book yo could always go into argos after reserving it on the internet and check
i would also want to know it was 1.5ah min then with one battery it may fullfill your moderate use especialy if you already have a drill

OK, thanks Big All.

I've got another comparison; which one?...

or

and what about this for a jigsaw...

Thanks again.

I quite like the idea of being able to cut 100mm...

This JCB looks good, but I've been advised against JCB in a previous post in this thread.

Just to confuse you further, and throw in my opinions,I like JCB kit - I have 18v hammer drill, and it's great (plenty of power for hammer drilling, not too heavy for screwdriving, battery life good,1 hour charge, feels good)
Was that impressed with it,I bought the JCB 9" angle grinder as well, did a great job when cutting through a wall recently

We al have our favourites - I also have a 14.4v Performance drill from bNq,although only suitable for occasional masonary drilling,it's great for screwdriving (which is what I use it for) - excellent value for the price.
(Also have 2 other cordless drills,2 routers,2 electric drills, chop saw, wood lathe, bench saw etc. - be warned, one you start buying,it's the start of a slippery slope...   )

OH GREAT PowerTool!

Just when I thought I had narrowed the options, you go and blow them wide open again!!!

Argos are doing a pack of two JCB drills for £99.99. A cordless and a mains. The cordless has two 18V batteries and 20 torque settings and the mains drill is 1010 Watts and 0-1400 rpm. Well, I think that's the only info they provide; don't think there were any model numbers mentioned. This is too expensive for me though so I'll give it a miss. I think one of them could be a JCBD-HD1010.

I think I'll stick to my low budget for now. Maybe I'll HAVE to upgrade sometime in future.

psb 700 looks good travler
thing youve got to keep in mind battery stuff is usualy twice the price or half as good mains power =cable power train + motor
or cable charger one or two batteries motor

also the output of a mains drill or tool will always be more efficiant mains speed /power usualy 50 to 100% more than battery for the same price

Thanks for all the advice.

I have now bought a power drill (mains) and a jigsaw. I decided to go for both the Black and Decker products (KR70L - the model with the level indicator and KS999EK saw).

I have used both products and am very happy with them. I think I won't be needing to upgrade for a long time yet, as they are more than capable for what I need them for.

Thanks all.

nice one traveller play with them and enjoy   ;)
