Hi all
I have an ageing Cuisinart ICE-50BC, bought second-hand. When I first switch it on, it cools down to about around 5°C, but no further, no matter how long I leave it running. However, if I let it run for a few minutes, leave it off for at least a couple of hours and try again, the compressor noise is much more noticeable and it quickly cools down to around -35°C and stays there for as long as required to make ice cream. I have dismantled it, removed all the dust and fitted a new relay, to no avail. Any ideas? I'm thinking that the compressor gas might be running low, or it's a problem with the thermostat, although I can't actually see a thermostat anywhere.
