Bit of a tangent but connected to the thread.
Although I'm making a point of not watching YT stuff that riles me any more (we'll see how long that lasts!) I used to watch stuff from folk like Charlie Veitch. He'd go right into the eye of the proverbial storm to film various protest marches and the like. Some of them got very loud and often very heated and dangerous.
It never ceased to amaze me that you'd see folk attending these things with children and toddlers in toe. Some with tiny toddlers in pushchairs. My immediate thought was 'why the feck are you taking your young kids into situations like that?!?'
This woman had a family and kids at home. Whilst maybe laudable to attend these ICE raids to raise your concerns and disgust, do it in such a way that completely mitigates your chance of being hurt or worse. They must surely know that, rightly or wrongly, some of these ICE agents will no doubt be trigger happy given the right scenario, so don't put yourself in a situation like that.
I don't know how these things work from a legal perspective, however if she had just stopped and got out, chances are they might have asked for her ID etc then let her on her way? All they'd had from her pre incident was some verbal?
Tragic yes, but avoidable.
