You need to look at the footage from the front - he was clearly hit - he bounced off the car - your "shot one" was after he bounced off the wing of the car

I agree, that is what I saw in the other video - his left leg appeared to be hit by the left wing of the car, and he was luckily shoved out of its path.

The video from the front is very deceptive and you can't see what really happened. NY Times have synced the two videos. It shows shot one is fired, then he jumps backwards and fires the other two shots. At no point was he hit by the car. What looks like him being hit from the front is actually him jumping backwards.

Boulder Colorado back in the mid 90s. I was with two mates from Bournemouth and met a Kiwi and a New yorker having a puff on a street corner. They offered us a swag. So we had a swag.

Next thing 4 police cars swung around the bend, jumped out, wanting us to give up the drugs.

I was told hands on the trunk and the head cop (espanic) kicked my legs apart like the do in the film's.

Great experience and more funny than scary. But I was a bit silly as it could have been serious. They wanted me to sqeel on the Kiwi for supplying the smoke.

I never sqeeled and they left us with a warning . The Kiwi swallowed the evidence.
