Noticed my ICOS24 boiler was dripping from the rear right area of the lower plate a few days ago. Isolated the power and called British Gas in to take a look.
The engineer found the issue, a corroded plastic nut that holds the condensate drain rubber hose to the S-trap.
I was amazed as to why this had corroded, i thought the whole idea of the S-trap componets being plastic/rubber was to avoid corrosion caused by the acidic nature of the condensation. BG engineer said he had not seen this before and couldnt explain it.
He fitted a new trap and rubber hose, the old S-trap was quite gunked up with small black metal parts (apparantly)
Any ideas?
