Dave Kemp is the benchmark for ALL technical help line operators, not just boiler manufacturers. Clearly knows what he is on about and not just reading script off a computer screen.
Just to update everybody and thank you all for your responses.
I bought a PCB off eBay for £99 and plugged it in...
So far so good and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
That being said the problem was not a constant fault and would be fine at times and not at others. I'm also wondering whether or not the extra cold spell we had a couple of weeks ago was making the boiler work harder that it normally does and eamplifyingthe fault.
Feeling the PCB it did feel a bit hot in one area which I'm sure it shouldn't do so at the moment I'm putting it down to that.
If the problem does come up again though I appreciate the feedback that it is probably the fan.
