Isolating switch on wall turned off? If not that simple then you need a multimeter to check for voltages at boiler stat and gas valve and incoming supply.After that its a engineer call I'm afraid.
You need a meter to measure if 240 is being applied to the gas valve solenoid.
Then measure the solenoid resistance and it may be O/C.
If the indication is the gas valve is failed then it needs a registered engineer to replace at about £160 depending on the cost of the gas valve.
