Hi sorry but I am back again, the boiler is a Ideal Classic RS40, I installed it over 25 years ago and it worked fine for a good few years. Things packed up over time IE: room stat, programmer, 3 port valves etc. Recently I had to replace all the electrical inners due to being plastic in a hot area IE: Gas control valve, Piezo unit, Gas control valve, etc. I checked all the wiring to make sure all was "I HOPE IN THE RIGHT PLACE" I also replaced the 3 port valve as the heat was not working. After all this only the water would work, the heating would only work if I pushed the manual lever over. I am only doing all this as at 82 I cant really afford a new boiler. Plus I would need to change the whole kitchen to accommodate it. Any help before I blow my brains out.

It is not a problem with your boiler, it is an external control problem or external wiring problem

Most likely that you have not wired the HW off circuit on your 3 way valve properly, post pics of everything , should be an easy fix if it originally worked

Hi Ian, thanks for your reply, I have managed to take the photos and I am waiting for one of my sons to get in touch to tell me how to send them. I hate computers never have got into how to use them properly. I will send them SAP if that's OK. Cheers Reg.
